You can surely tell that Spring is on its way to the Pacific Northwest!
It's a time of renewal! This year is going to be better than last year and it is starting off pretty darn good! It's been so good that I have been motivated to renew myself!
I was reading one of our Royal Muses weight loss journey blogs, Weight for the Laugh, then went and read the blog that inspired her, Wii to a New Me. Well that did it for me! I have a Wii and the Wii Fit.

I thought "I can do this!"
Then I thought "I need to do this!"
So, now that my health issues, panic attacks and agoraphobia seem to be getting under control, I am going to do this, for myself.
I am not calling it diet and exercise because those words just sound depressing.
I am calling this "My Lifestyle Modification & Movements!" LOL
On Monday, February 22nd, I started by cutting way, way, way back on my coffee intake and I'm not talking about just a little bit of coffee either. I could easily drink coffee from the moment that I get up in the morning to the moments just before I go to bed. I'm also not talking about a regular cup of java either! I'm talking about those fancy, schmancy coffees....

espressos with the steamed milk, chocolate and flavored syrups!
Oh yeah baby, I'm talking the good stuff! Well, with all of my health issues in the last couple of years coupled with my panic/anxiety attacks and agoraphobia that just seemed to take over, it surely was not good for me!
I'm not a big junk food eater so that isn't a big deal for me. I think that I just don’t eat well enough and or I eat when I am bored. I am not a breakfast person! I just don’t have time to make breakfast in the morning either. So I started to have a Fiber One bar or a piece of fruit such as a banana, with my one-cup-of-coffee for breakfast. I can take them both with me out the door on my way to work!
Another bad thing that I have done is not only skipping breakfast, but I skipped lunch for a number of years, and then only ate at dinner. By then I was really hungry! That is not good for you and it will cause you to gain weight! (Well, crap, I wish I had known that sooner!) Since the panic attacks and agoraphobia started about 2 years ago, if I went out anywhere, I went through drive through fast food, so that I didn’t have to leave my vehicle. If I didn’t go out and about, I ordered in.

So instead of doing that now, I pack my little lunch with healthy items for a snack after breakfast, a lunch, another snack before I leave work because I work 4 – 10 hour days, and then when I get home, I have dinner.
I try to drink water also during the day.
I also started to document the foods that I eat because it makes me more accountable. I am not really cutting anything out but only making sure that I am modifying the amount of calories. I am adding in more fresh fruits and veggies and of course now that I don’t have a huge coffee in my hand at all times, I am increasing my water intake!

(I need to do a much better job at drinking more water!)
The biggest thing I need to work on is movement!
The biggest thing I need to work on is movement!
I am trying to make myself walk, taking the dogs for a walk…. Whatever!
Just some kind of movement!
I haven’t used that darn Wii Fit yet! I’m not really sure why!
In the two weeks that I have been making this lifestyle modification and movements adjustment, I am finding that I am feeling better, seem to have more energy and as of today I have lost 4 pounds! Just that little 4 pounds has me even more motivated!

I wasn’t really trying to lose weight but to see what can happen with just a few modifications,
I can’t wait to see what happens when I do try!
Oh and one last comment or two.

The support and encouragement of my co-workers, friends, family and our fabulous Royal Muses CT means so much to me and helps keep me going.
It’s always nice to have others follow along and or take the journey with you!
Thank you all! We can do this!
Well, if you have read this far, you sure do deserve a gift!

Kim, you strike me as a lady with tons of will power. I remember well when you quit smoking and posted about it!! You will do perfectly fine with what you're doing because you're doing it with all the right buttons switched on, and yes that will power of yours will hopefully always kick in in those difficult moments!
Wishing all the best, sending you many hugs of admiration and motivation! :)
Beautiful,thank you Kimmi!
Meisie
Kimmi you have so much more willpower than I do! it seems all I do is think about it...think about quit smoking...think about exercising...think about trying to be more healthy...and all the while, I am eating a Little Debbie snack cake with my huge cup of coffee and a cigarette in the other hand while my big fat butt sits on the computer, lol! You go girl!!! And thank you so much for the beautiful beautiful quick page!
I am so glad I took the time to read the blog this morning. I love the idea of wii to a new me...I love the wii and have fun with my daughter and then we'll stop for long periods- I don't know why. Concerning the Panic Disorder- I too get them and saw segment on Dr Oz recently how Mitro Valve Prolapse (heart murmer)symptoms are often misdiagnosed as Panic Disorder- You might check it out- or it could be menopause related. I know I am going to have the mvp checked for me. My prayers are with you
Yeah Kimmi!!!! You are off to a great start on your "Lifestyle Modification & Movements!" You will be amazed at what the difference a few healthy changes make! Wishing you all the best on this new journey and want to thank you for the beautiful QP!

Debbie
Let us know how the Wii Fit thing goes. I think those products that they have for the Wii look like they might be good. I wish you luck. Thanks for the darling QP! :)
Great Job. 30 years ago, I had agoraphobia so bad I didn't leave the house for 2 months. I slowly started to do things over about 2 years and was finally cured. I went through panic attacks at that time also. May the Lord bless you and keep you and and show you guidance on your journey.
Sally
